Uncommon News Summer 2006

 Summer booking is in full swing and it looks like we may be off to a record year.   It is gratifying to see so many familiar faces returning to increase their paddling skills via our lessons and workshops.   

 Demo Kayaks for Sale :

Wilderness System Tempest 170 (17’ x 22.5”) and 165 (16.5’ x 21.5”)…one of each.  $950   

These plastic British style boats are our favorite teaching boat equipped with day hatches, skegs, recessed deck fittings and perimeter deck lines.   They do everything quite well.   These are our last two from last season to make room for the new ones just like ‘em!

A great destination for beginners through advanced that combines incredible glacial sculpted wilderness island camping with sapphire blue water.  This trip is a great opportunity to take your skills to the next level while enjoying daily swims, evening starscapes and fine backcountry meals.  Includes all group gear, crown land fees, guides and food.  $950  

Les Cheneaux Windswept Lodge Trip :  Sept 23-26                                        $595  

Famed cookbook author Bonnie Stewart Mickelson (Hollyhocks and Radishes), has had Windswept in her family as long as she can remember.  Located on Marquette island, this location will drench us in local history and a great place to explore with views of Mackinaw and some potential for good surf play while enjoying a warm fire at night.
