Uncommon News Spring 2008

[ Uncommon Adventures

Thanks so much to those of you who joined us for our tropical winter programs. Clearly, we’re all feeling the pinch of rising travel costs, but we’ve done our best to keep price increases to a minimum and only on programs that involve a lot of travel for us. Please let your outdoor friends know about our newsletter. Let’s get outside and play this summer!

Spring Gear Turnover

Call 866-882-5525 for information

Touring Kayaks for Sale:
• Wilderness Systems Tempest 170: $1600 the current retail for a 170. 17’ x 22.5” wide. This one is red and is really good condition and would sell for $950.
• Hurricane Tracer 165 for sale (thermo-formed boat)....light and slippery. 16.5’ long x 22.5” wide. $1500 retail. This is a pretty sporty kayak that performs very well: is a bit tender at first, but has great secondary stability that you grow into it quickly. It has a skeg and two dry hatches. Its barely used at $1000...new last year.
• Point 65 Crunch Rocket....a plastic high performance 16 ft x 21.5” wide Swedish boat…great performance boat on a budget. Has a rudder, but doesn't need it.....stiff, three hatches, fast as all get out...good trainer....$900.

Tents
• Mountain Hardware Alcove 3: Nice roomy 3 person tents that are great for 2 plus gear with doors and double vestibules. They’re gently used and hey, they’re Mountain Hardware…hard to go wrong at $175 each. Review at: http://www.trailspace.com/gear/mountain-hardwear/alcove-3/
